What are the most searched words on Google for 2011?

As I am writing this, it is January 2011, but I found out the most searched words on Google for this month, so it makes sense that this article will be called the most searched words on Google for 2011.

I found what I think are the most searched words on Google especially for this month, but it changes every month, and Google do not actually list the most searched words on Google, you have to compare words to each other in the Google Adwords keyword tool.

There are many other sites like Google Trends which provide the "hottest" searches of the year, but these only reveal large increases in search volumes, not actual numbers. The only place I know of where you have a chance of finding the most searched words on Google is the Google Adwords keyword tool, and it is mostly guess work, but I will tell you what I found for January 2011.

The word with the highest search volume seems to be Facebook, with over 2 billion searches every month worldwide, at least on Google, and so far in 2011.

The next most searched word I could find was You Tube, with almost a billion searches a month worldwide on Google.

Yahoo did pretty well, with about half a billion searches a month, and then we start to get into murky waters about the rank of popularity.

Sex, and video both had 338 million searches a month, porn has 277 million searches a month, and there are many other words that I am probably forgetting to mention here, but MySpace and Twitter didn't do that well.

God as a word only gets 20,400,000 searches a month on Google worldwide, so you can see that Facebook is extremely popular.

To tell you the truth, that's the best I can do, except to tell you that Justin Beiber got more searches than God this month, at 30,400,000.
